Privacy Policy

Your words are yours. Here's exactly how we handle your information.

Last updated: June 2026
We do not sell your personal information. Private writing is not displayed to other members unless you choose to share it.

1. Who We Are

Dennis & Becca operates unsently.com as a private writing and community platform. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account details: name or display name, email, securely hashed password, optional photo, and optional profile details.
  • Your content: letters, drafts, unsent texts, uploads, reflections, posts, comments, reactions, discussions, reports, and messages where enabled.
  • Subscription records: plan, purchase, and renewal status supplied by checkout or payment providers. We do not store your full card number.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser, device, timestamps, requested pages, cookies, and security events.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide, secure, maintain, and improve Unsently.
  • Manage accounts, memberships, preferences, and requested features.
  • Display content according to the visibility choice you select.
  • Respond to support, reports, appeals, security issues, and legal requests.
  • Detect spam, fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms or Guidelines.
  • Send service messages and optional communications you choose to receive.

4. Private Writing and Anonymous Posts

Private writing is not shown publicly or displayed to other members unless you choose to share it. Authorized access may occur only when reasonably necessary for requested support, security, abuse investigations, credible safety concerns, legal compliance, or protection of rights and safety.

Anonymous posts are anonymous to other members, not necessarily to Unsently. We may keep an internal account connection to moderate abuse, respond to reports, and comply with law.

5. Limited Sharing

We do not sell personal information or share private writing with advertisers. Limited information may be shared with service providers supporting hosting, databases, email, checkout, payments, security, backups, and basic analytics; with authorities or other parties when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect rights or safety; or with a successor organization in a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can promise perfect security. Use a unique password and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain security, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. After deletion, limited records may remain for legal, payment, fraud-prevention, security, or backup purposes.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or an appeal. Unsently does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Email contact@unsently.com from your account email. We may verify your identity.

9. Age Requirement

Unsently is for adults age 18 or older. Do not create an account if you are under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Updates and Contact

We may update this policy as Unsently changes. Questions or requests: contact@unsently.com.
