7. Account Deletion & Data Deletion Instructions

We want to make it simple for you to leave and take your data with you (or have it removed).

7.1 How to Request Account Deletion

If you want your UnSently account deleted, you can:

7.2 What Happens When You Request Deletion

When you request account deletion, we will:

  • Verify your identity (for security)

  • Remove or anonymize personally identifiable information tied to your account in our active systems, where reasonably possible

  • Log the deletion request so we have a record for legal and security purposes

In general:

  • Your login access will be disabled.

  • Your profile information (name, email, profile photo) will be removed or anonymized.

  • Content you have posted (like letters or comments) may be:

    • Deleted; or

    • Anonymized (for example, your name removed and replaced with a generic label such as “Anonymous User”) so that community discussions can remain but are no longer linked to your identity.

We usually process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days, subject to technical and legal limitations.

7.3 Data Deletion for Facebook and Google Users

If you signed up or logged in using Facebook or Google:

  • Removing the UnSently app from your Facebook and Google accounts does not automatically erase all data stored on UnSently.

  • To fully request deletion of your UnSently account and related data, please:

8. Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including:

  • While your account is active

After you request deletion, we will:

  • Retain only what we are legally required or legitimately allowed to keep (for example, aggregated data or logs needed for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance)
